What is Included with Basic Tree Removal?
There are many different levels of service available when removing a tree, but a few basic pieces are usually included. Obviously, the tree will be need to be cut down using the appropriate technique and equiptment and the debris removed. Typically, if the tree can not be fell into a safe drop zone it requires a climber to climb the tree and piece it down in manageable sizes. Some tree limbs may require using roping techniques to lower the limb to the ground or also incorporating the use of a crane. In situations were the tree is inaccessible, can not be lowered to the ground because of objects below (such as a house), or is simple to dangerous to climb a crane will be used to remove the tree. A crane is used in tree work to raise limbs safely up and away from the tree in a controlled method. The limbs can then be placed away from objects in manageable work zones.
Once limbs are safely on the ground there may be a need for the ground guys to further reduce them into manageable sizes. At this point the smaller limbs are ran through a wood chipper and blown into a chip truck to later be hauled away and dumped at a mulch processing mill. Disposal method of large limbs and tree trunks depends on the wood type, size, and condition of the piece. Some wood or extremely large pieces may be removed and hauled away with the use of an apprentice boom truck while other trees may simple be cut into fire wood size pieces and loaded and hauled away. You may request to have the wood chips or logs dumped on your property for your own personal use.
Once the tree work as been completed and the debris removed, you have the option of stump grinding the remaining tree stump. As the tree no longer causes a safety concern, this is a cosmetic decision to decide if you want a stump on your property or not. Most stumps will take several years to rot. Typically stump grinding will not take place on the same day as your tree removal as it requires separate equipment to be brought to the job site. Once a stump is ground out you may level off your yard with fresh soil and seed or sod the area.
